Hey guys, We've compiled Weekend Bangers, a playlist for ya'll. We've been listening to a lot of these lately and we figured why not share. Hope you all enjoy it and rock out to it like we are.
Here is another up-and-coming duo that is bursting into view in the electronic community. hailing from Melun, France, Mustard Pimp consists of Baron and eKa. Baron was formerly a DJ of acid and techno music, while eKa was a guitarist in a French metal band. The two began working together and producing remixes in 2008. Their eclectic, original sound and consistent production of dope remixes, such as their remix of Dada Life's "Let's Get Bleeped Tonight and The Hive's "Main Offender," has gained them almost instant recognition and support from artists like Dada Life, Steve Aoki, The Eagles of Death Metal, Designer Drugs, and the Crookers. Their debut single "Oh La La Satan," released in September of 2008 under Crux Records. More recently however, they have released their "Rock, Paper, Scissors" EP this past June under Dim Mak Records. The duo has released some truly astonishing material, like both a 12 and 24 hour mix tape that encompassed all of their influences and gained global recognition. Check out their latest single "Paper" and their remix of Fischerspooner's "Infidels of the World Unite." Strong work gentlemen.

For our first installment of Music Video Monday we have the official video for Rusko's Woo Boost. This video was directed by Pomp&Clout, a video arts project led by Ryan Staake. The effects were made from broken analogue video mixers, VCRs, and colour correctors with original footage laid on top with more analog degradations. Check out the rest of his projects at his offical Pomp&Clout website.
What can be said about Felix Cartal? How about electro genius. Hailing from Vancouver, BC, Felix has already made his mark on electronic music scene at only 22 years old. A member of Steve Aoki's always entertaining Dim Mak Records, Felix has opened for well known artists like MSTRKRFT and Justice. One of the most innovative artists in the industry, Felix is meticulous in his creation of explosive, gripping music. Also, his ability to control the crowds energy is astonishing. Extremely unique in his sound and delivery, Felix doesn't follow traditional heavy electro and house formulas, but instead is creating hard-hitting bangers, which possess multiple layers that meld seamlessly together. It's apparent that he is continually perfecting his style, as he produces more melody driven, heavy bass-line distortion dance music, as well as acquiring a larger and larger fan base (most recently us ^^). Felix has said, “There will be an evolution in what I do all the time.” Check out Drone and his remix of Beyond God & Elvis below. Another one that we must see live.
So one of our fellow Beat Freaks, Steph, did a little...lets call it "field work," for us and participated in the epicness of Camp Bisco 2010. Some of the notables at the festival included Bassnectar, Felix Cartel, and Dipl0 / Major Lazer. For those of you who don't know, Camp Bisco is a three day electronic music festival that takes place at the Indian Lookout Country Club in Mariaville, New York. So here it is, Steph's account of one hell of an event. We so so envy you Steph.
Greetings fellow Beat Freaks! Summer is heating up and to help you get into the season we've teamed up with La Belle Epoque for a summer mixtape and fashion showcase. The following is our reaction to this song expressed in exclamations in chronological order: 1) Is that....Hungarian polka music? 2) Wow, it is in fact Hungarian polka music. 3) Hm, they're not just sampling, their making it a key aspect of their song. 4) Their doing a really good job of making it a key part of the song... *Bob heads* 5) Sick!
This is one of those quirky songs that you don't exactly know why you like it, you just do. And we do as well. We think it's the ever present "ba ba" that lends itself very well to the builds and off beats. Listen to it, it's sure to grow on you, it's obviously stuck in our heads. Hm...Summer mix-tape potential?

Bloc Party's front-man (I'm sure you all recognize the voice) Kele Okereke (pronounced O-kay-ray-kay) has gone solo. This is the single of off his debut solo album "The Boxer" released with Wichita Records. The indie rock star's step into the electronic scene is off to a solid start. Very catchy song, and Kele's vocal range meshes very well with the rhythm and builds, plus the video is pretty cool. This is another song that we think has huge remix potential, and apparently Kele agrees with us because he has set up a soundcloud drop box on his site where you can submit your own remix of "Tenderoni" - http://iamkele.com/remix/. There are already 54 remixes submitted, all of which are downloadable. His home page, http://iamkele.com/, features a downloadable remix by Larry Tee and Beckwith. Hope you enjoy it!
LAZRtag (yes you must write it like that every time) hails from LA and consist of two guys: Luvtek and Erik Addison aka 'StellarDRV'. They are producers as well as DJs and have just wrapped up their Summer Australian tour. These guys. Fucking. Kill it. They're remixes are unbelievably good, out of this world. When can we see them live?! We are listening to it right now with big ass grins on our faces. We're featuring their Passion Pit "Little Secret" Remix and their Datarock "Dance!" remix. Look out for their upcoming original singles "Klepto" and "Belong to You." After listening to their remixes we can't wait for these singles to come out. Strong work boys.

Every once and a while a song comes out that is truly fantastic and will remain fantastic for a long time. "Barbra Streisand" is one of them. It's sooo catchy, a legit summer bomb and a really strong track for 2010! Absolutely love the island drums and "woooo's," it makes it so that we can dance AND sing along! This is a fantastic display of electro-disco-pop. The song feels light and playful, yet still has a strong enough beat to dance along to. We're featuring the Baby Diego edit from scratch, basically a few tweaks on the original, but remains largely unchanged.
For those of you who don't know, Duck Sauce is a collaboration between the great A-Trak and Armand Van Helden. Their debut single "aNYway" was released on 25th October 2009 on Data Records. A-Trak dropped "Barbra Streisand" at Ultra and people have been buzzing about it ever since. Strong work boys, strong work, keep it up
The squatters first track of 2010 certainly is a monster. the track comes off of their Monster-EP and we highly recommend getting the rest of the album. We really enjoy how the squatters get right to business with the song, straight forward to the sick beat. We think the track has huge remix potential, but can stand alone in it's right no question. We definitely see people head-banging and jumping to this. the beat has been stuck in our heads for days, and fans of sharp beats and breaks will probably experience the same. we really enjoy this and hope you do as well, GO SQUATTERS!
We don't think we've seen a DJ this active with his equipment. Kissy Sell Out is EVERYWHERE, interweaving whats seems to be all his samples and sound effects together in a seamless fashion. Sick drops and transitions with a refreshingly spontaneous feel that makes us move our feet and bob our heads. He is one of the most exciting, charismatic and entertaining DJs we've come across, and produces some of the best live sets we've heard in a while. His energy is infectious, leading to lots of dancing.
Kissy Sell Out (Tommy Bisdee) hails from the UK, and has his own radioshow on BBC 1 radio. At only 25 years old, he only continues to evolve, smashing shows left and right. SUPER stoked for his American tour starting September 2 in San Diego! Listen to him, DO IT!
Because it's the 4th of July. and the remix is done by a Brit (Scotland if you want to get technical) oh the irony!! but seriously, Calvin Harris is legit and so is this remix. We love it and so should you.
Normally we feature newly released material, but as a group designer drugs has really caught our attention. Designer Drugs consists of two members: Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson. The DD boys produced over 23 remixes and DJ’d over 100 shows around the world. This year, to keep from going crazy, Designer Drugs is putting the focus on original material while continuing to tour the galaxy and party harder than ever.
We are focusing on their Datamix collection, which feature mixes that range up and down the electro spectrum. Their sets are a collection of great remixes (many of which are their own) and songs, highlighted by original material by Designer Drugs like "Riot" and "Zombies!" The DD boys come at you with crisp beats, intermixed with dirty dubstep drops and well known dance favorites. They almost force you out of your seat to dance, with head-bangingly awesome music. Check out the Datamix 05 and keep up the beat
